Steve Hovey Ink

Closing on complete with a WP site for a local tattoo artist (musician & super dad) Steve Hovey.

Steve needs a site to help market his tattoo work. He is a great client. He trusted me to just go for it: come up with something bright, bold, and eye-catching using his selection of flash, fine art, and tattoos. So instead of doing something safe, I went for it. We are both happy with the result.

Visit SteveHoveyInk.comIf you dare (evil laugh)

SteveHoveyInk.comIt was easy, though, for Steve to say: Do whatever you want, just make it look cool. And mean it. We were both graphic designers at the same firm & have worked together some since then. He knows my work. He knows that—as a designer—I’m experienced, creative, and understand how to apply marketing principles. I feel like his trust helped me do an inspired design that I’m quite fond of. Crazy purple skull with tentacles? I can get behind that! Read the rest of this entry »

The Cobbler’s Children…

[insert aphorism about how The Cobbler's Children Need New Shoes or how ever that goes]

It is always easier for me to get someone else’s project done. My own sites languish. Well, I finally have a design I’m more-or-less happy with—this WP Theme. I’m my own worst client!

Work In Progress

I’m busy with The Manor of Art set up through mid-August and the show until the 24th. Please visit my project room and the whole show.

Get in touch with Room 119 if you want. Please do! It is an open-ended, participatory art piece piece about- and of- the other 100+ artists. 20 bands. 10 days. Room 119 will be Twittering, updating Facebook, and posting images, text, links, and other content to a region of MP5′s site.

Room 119 has started a series of TWTTR 4-tweet micro interviews w/ participating artists.
